Bactrim DS Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These are both effective for the treatment of bacterial infections. However, this tablet is not safe and effective for the long-term use, especially if it is taken with a high-fat meal. It is better to take the tablet as soon as possible after a meal as this may cause adverse effects. It is recommended to take Bactrim DS Tablet regularly for a period of 24 to 48 hours, even if you feel better. The duration of action will depend on the type of bacteria and the condition being treated. It is better to take it at the same time every day. Take the tablet regularly for 24 hours. Do not take it more often than every day. If you have any stomach or intestinal ulcers in the past 6 months or are taking Bactrim DS Tablet, contact your doctor immediately. Do not take Bactrim DS Tablet with dairy products as it may cause stomach upset. In case, you experience severe side effects, call your doctor immediately. Avoid consumption of alcohol while being treated as it may worsen side effects of the drug. Before you use Bactrim DS Tablet, inform your doctor if you are using any medicines, eating or drinking, and have drunk a lot of alcohol. Do not consume any foods that contain sugar.
